Autumn is fast approaching, which means the kit your child needs for Forest School will slightly change. Therefore, today I’m going to share with you my recommended Autumn kit list so that your child can enjoy their Autumn outdoor adventures to the fullest!
A Jumper/Fleece- There can be a nip in the air but it may not be cold enough for a coat, a jumper or fleece will help to keep the chill off your child.
A Warm Coat- It is better to add layers when feeling cold, so pack a warm coat so your child has the option to layer up if need be.
Comfortable Trousers- Leggings or jogging bottoms are best as they allow freedom for movement.
A T-shirt- Long sleeve is best for Autumn time as it helps to keep your child warm as well as helping to protect their arms.
Socks- Send your child with two pairs, a normal pair and a thicker pair for layering up if needs be.
Wellies/ Comfortable Closed-Toe Shoes- Or both! So, your child can change on wetter days. However, if using comfortable closed-toe shoes, make sure your child is happy for these to get wet and muddy!
Waterproofs- If you’re able to provide your child with a set of waterproof clothing, they will add an extra layer of protection and help to keep them warm, it will also enable them to get the most out of their rainy-day play.
Spares- Your child is most likely to get wet and muddy during the Autumn months, so pack a spare set of everything in case they do begin to feel cold and uncomfortable.
